Mr. Mark Westendorf grew up in a parsonage. But wait – he’s normal. He spent long hours DJ’ing at suburban Milwaukee bowling alleys. He managed a Ben Franklin store on 60th & Silver Spring – and kept the atmosphere light with his dry whit and shenanigans. He hosted “homeless” seminary students during summers. He signed up with UPS and drove with the door open – yet God pulled off the best delivery of all, a wife and companion – and then another princess, his daughter.
Through all life’s changes, God kept him safe, humble and forgiven and passionate about not only his own family, but his church family.
Living in a parsonage, and living in this world, you find out all too soon that churches are far from perfect, just like blood family. But family is family and Mark has tapped into his Father’s love for strength to love others. He was instrumental in creating the “Iron Men of God ” men’s conference. He organized men of the congregation to sing as the choir for Good Friday Worship.
Just a normal guy, yet a prince in God’s eyes, blessed to celebrate holy things and truths with his church family.
